Unleashing Potential
Unleashing Potential is a licensed and dual accredited Early Childhood Education Center. The center holds State-Missouri Accreditation and Nationally- Council on Accrediation Our mission is to close the opportunity gap for children and youth by building on their strengths. We create educational and empowering experiences through early childhood education, after school programs, youth development and enrichment camps. Centrally located just south of downtown St. Louis, Caroline Mission is open 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and offers a sliding fee scale. Caroline Mission is a United Way agency with over a 100 year history (founded in 1913) of providing services to the St. Louis community. Staff is currently trained in the Parents as Teachers model and Conscious Discipline classroom management model.
Our program provides a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We use play and exploration as a vehicle for learning as children begin their journey to becoming independent, creative problem solvers prepared to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. We utilize Teaching Strategies Gold, an online observation-based assessment system that blends ongoing, authentic assessment in all areas of development with intentional, focused performance assessment tasks for selected predictors of school readiness in the areas of literacy and numeracy. Teaching Strategies Gold which embeds Creative Curriculum and research-based (Ages and Stages & Dial) screenings and assessments is used as part of meaningful, everyday experiences in the classroom and is inclusive of children with developmental delays and disabilities, children who are English-language or dual-language learners, and children who are advanced learners. We offer monthly parent engagement events and have a Family Support Specialist who can assist families with goal setting and partnership needs.
